Jean Wiersch

Jean Wiersch (born May 30, 1963 in Brandenburg an der Havel ) is a German police officer and writer.

Career

Wiersch grew up in the district of Grüningen in the municipality of Wenzlow ( Brandenburg district ) and attended the advanced secondary school in Ziesar from 1977 to 1981 . After graduating from high school, he was trained as a nautical officer from 1981 in Stralsund at the officers' college "Karl Liebknecht" of the GDR People's Navy . Because of his restricted seaworthiness, he soon switched to combat swimmers and served there until 1990.

In 1994 he joined the Brandenburg Police , studied again and was a. a. Head of the police station in Rathenow . In early 2009 Wiersch moved to the Ministry of the Interior in Potsdam . Since 2011 he has been involved in setting up the Brandenburg Police Department on the Havel.

He is married and has lived in Ketzür (municipality of Beetzseeheide ) since 2011 in his hometown .

In addition to his professional career, Wiersch discovered his weakness for writing and developed crime stories. With the help of his wife Kerstin, who is also his literary agent, he has been publishing his crime series from the Brandenburg area since 2007. He is a member of the Syndikat , the authors' group of German-language crime literature.

Wiersch's previous stories about Commissioner Andrea Manzetti deal largely with the city of Brandenburg an der Havel and its surroundings, with Wiersch always using real locations. This results in a high recognition value for readers from the region .
