Jeanne Bates

Jeanne Bates (born May 21, 1918 in Berkeley , California - November 28, 2007 in Woodland Hills ) was an American actress .

Life

Bates began her career as a student at San Mateo Junior College, starring in the San Francisco mystery radio show Whodunit by Lew X. Lansworth. Thanks to her voice she quickly became known and in 1942 by Columbia Pictures under contract, where they initially Mystery - Horror films could be seen. In 1943 Bates married Lansworth, with whom she was together until his death in 1981.

Bates starred in many television series and had minor appearances in movies. She was seen in more than 130 productions in total. She died of breast cancer on November 28, 2007 .
