Jeanne Bot (born January 14, 1905 in Mont-Louis , Pyrénées-Orientales , † May 24, 2021 in Perpignan ) was a French supercentenarian and the third oldest French woman whose age could be verified.

Life

Jeanne Bot was born in 1905 in the Mont-Louis military barracks , where her father Louis was a non-commissioned officer. She had three sisters and one brother. For 50 years she worked as an accountant in a car repair shop on Boulevard Poincaré in Perpignan . She remained single and childless.

For more than 40 years she lived alone in her apartment in the Moulin à vent district ( La Lunette) from Perpignan, but was supported by a domestic help. In 2017, at the age of 112, she was able to walk with a walker and had no serious health problems. Most of the time she spent watching TV. Bot had an excellent memory of days gone by. In 2019 she was worse off, and she was looked after by a maid and a nurse every morning and evening; her nephew Robert Raynaud and her great-niece Françoise also looked after her. But she still had a lot of appetite. On her 116th birthday, Bot was still living in her apartment in January 2021 and was practically deaf. She didn't always recognize her nephew. She also found communication through reading difficult, and she felt very tired. She recently did not take any medication.

Jeanne Bot died on May 24, 2021 at the age of 116 in Perpignan.
