Jeanne Robinson
Jeanne Robinson (* the 30th March 1948 in Boston , † the 30th May 2010 ) was an American choreographer and science fiction - writer .
Life
Robinson was born in Boston. She studied dance a. a. at the Boston Conservatory . After various engagements as a dancer and choreographer, she founded the Nova Dance Theater in Halifax in 1980 , which she ran until 1987. She then moved to Vancouver with her husband, the writer Spider Robinson , whom she married in 1975, and their daughter .
In 1979 she and her husband published the first novel of the Stardance Triology, which won the prize for the best novel at Hugo , Locus and Nebula . The volumes Starseed and Starmind followed in 1991 and 1995 . In 1979 the Analog Award for Stardance II followed as the best serial.
In 2009, Robinson was diagnosed with biliary cancer , from whom she died in 2010.
