Technical specifications
- Power generation
- six water turbines Type: Francis turbine with a maximum flow of 380 m³ / s per unit.
- Six synchronous generators ( salient pole machine ) Type: internal pole design with a nominal voltage of 16 kV and a maximum electrical apparent power of 103.5 MVA . Each generator is connected to its own machine transformer , which transforms the 16 kV generator voltage to 330 kV high voltage for the overland supply of the network in Nigeria.
The reservoir
The lake begins just a few kilometers below the Kainji reservoir . It has a length of about 70 kilometers and an average width of about 2-3 kilometers.
