Jecheskel Flomin ( Hebrew יחזקאל פלומין; * August 2, 1935 in Jerusalem , League of Nations mandate for Palestine ; † October 16, 2019 ) was an Israeli lawyer and politician .

Life

Flomin attended the Tichon-Aleph-Gymnasium and the Aleph-Kunstschule Tel Aviv ( Hebrew תיכון א 'לאמנויות תל אביב; English Aleph School of Arts ) in Tel Aviv and then studied law and economics at Tel Aviv University , where he was a member of the teaching staff from 1962 to 1969. From 1971 to 1972 he was a member of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem .

Flomin had been a member of the Liberal Party since 1953 , which was in alliance with the Likud from 1973 until it was dissolved . From 1974 to 1981 he was a member of the Knesset and a member of the finance committee, and from June 28, 1977 to July 30, 1979 he was deputy finance minister in the government of Prime Minister Menachem Begin .

In 1986 he left the Liberals to join Josef Lapid and Schlomo Lahat to form a new liberal center party called haMerkas haLiberali ( Hebrew המרכז הליברלי) to found.
