Jelle Bataille (born May 20, 1999 ) is a Belgian football player who is under contract with the first division club KV Ostend . The right full-back has been a Belgian U21 international since September 2019 .
Career
society
Jelle Bataille spent almost all of his youth in the youth department of KV Ostend and only worked for the juniors of Club Bruges for two years . For playoff of season 2017/18 , the right was full-back in the first team head coach Adnan Čustović transported. On April 2, 2018 (1st matchday of the playoffs) he made his debut in the away game against Royal Antwerp in the top Belgian division when he came on for Aristote Nkaka in the 68th minute . 20 minutes later he took out a penalty , which was converted by Zinho Gano to equalize to 3: 3 final score. On May 9th (8th matchday of the playoffs) he scored his first goal in the Kustboys jersey in the 3-1 home defeat against KSC Lokeren . In this playoff he already played regularly and completed seven league games, in which he managed a goal and an assist.
On March 26, 2019, he signed a new three-year contract with KV Ostend. In this 2018/19 season , however, he was only used irregularly in 18 league games in which he was unable to show any goal participation. In the shortened 2019/20 season he established himself as a regular player and made a total of 24 league games in which he scored two goals and as many assists.
National team
Jelle Bataille played five times for the Belgian U18 national team between September 2016 and May 2017 and scored one goal in those games. From August to November 2017 he played six international matches for the U19s . He has been a Belgian U21 international since September 2019 .
Personal
Jelle Bataille's father Kurt already played football professionally and coached KV Ostend between December 2007 and June 2008.
