Jellyfish Entertainment
Jellyfish Entertainment ( Korean 젤리 피쉬 엔터테인먼트 ) is a South Korean music label and entertainment company founded by composer and producer Hwang Se-jun in Seoul , South Korea .
The solo artists Park Yoon-ha, Seo In-guk and Sung Si-kyung and the boy group VIXX , its subgroup VIXX LR and the girl group Gugudan are all under contract with Jellyfish Entertainment . The agency also manages some actors such as Julien Kang, Park Jung-ah, Choi Ji-na, Jiyul, Kim Ye-won and Park Jung-soo.
history
2007–2012: Founding and first artist
Jellyfish Entertainment Co., Ltd. was founded on August 17th, 2007 in Seoul by the composer and producer Hwang Se-jun. The first artist who was there under contract was the ballad singer Sung Si-kyung, who released the single Parting Once Again ( 한번 더 이별 ) . A year later the label signed Lisa and Park Hak-ki.
In November 2008 Jellyfish Entertainment signed the singer Park Hyo-shin , who could be heard on the album Hwang Project Vol.1 Welcome To The Fantastic World . The following year Super Star K candidates Seo In-guk and Lee Ji-hoon joined Jellyfish Entertainment.
In December 2010 all Jellyfish Entertainment artists collaborated on the Jelly Christmas album. In December 2011 Sung Si-kyung, Brian Joo, Seo In-guk , Park Hak-ki, Park Jang-hyun and yHwang Project collaborated again for the Jelly Christmas album.
2012–2015: Founding of VIXX

On May 24, 2012, the label's first boy group, VIXX , made the single Super Hero on M! Countdown to their debut after participating in the TV show MyDOL . In June of the same year, SG Wonderland's Lee Seok-hoon released the single The Beginning of Love as part of Hwang Se-jun's Y.Bird from Jellyfish Island project. On September 12th Jellyfish Entertainment gave their first live concert Jellyfish Live at the Zepp DriverCity in Tokyo , Japan . In December, Park Hyo-shin and Sung Si-kyung gave a concert in Seoul . The artists from Jellyfish Entertainment also collaborated again for the Jelly Christmas 2012 Heart Project , whose proceeds went to The Salvation Army Korea .
In February 2013 Seo In-guk and Verbal Jint released the single I Can't Live Because of You with Y.Bird from Jellyfish Island and in October VIXX and OKDAL released the single Girls Why? .
In 2014 Jellyfish Entertainment became partners with CJ E & M's Music Performance Division .
In July 2015, K-pop Star 4 contestant Park Yoon-ha signed an exclusive deal with Jellyfish Entertainment. The following month, the first subgroup of made Vixx , Vixx LR consisting of the Vixx members Leo and Ravi her debut. On December 15th, the Jelly Christmas 2015 EP with the title single Love In The Air ( 사랑 난로 ) was released. Seo In-guk , VIXX, Park Jung-ah and Park Joon-ah could be heard on the EP .
2016-present: Gugudan founded
From December 18, 2015 to April 1, 2016, the trainees Kim Na-young, Kang Mi-na and Kim Se-jeong represented Jellyfish Entertainment in the TV talent show Produce 101 . Kang Mi-na and Kim Se-jeong made it to the finals and made their debut as part of the year Project IOI . It has been announced that after working on IOI, they will make their official debut as members of the agency's first girl group.
On June 3, 2016, Jellyfish Entertainment announced the release of their new music project Jelly Box . Jelly Box follows the same principle as the previous project Y.Bird from Jellyfish Island and should contain both the label's artists and collaborations with other musicians.
On June 28, 2016, the nine-member girl group Gugudan made their debut.
In August 2016, Park Hyo-shin left the agency after eight years of collaboration.
In October 2016, Jellyfish Entertainment announced that Jiyul (former member of the girl group Dal Shabet ) had signed a contract with the agency to pursue her acting career.
In November 2016, former jewelry member Kim Je-won joined Jellyfish Entertainment as an actress.
On December 13, 2016, Jellyfish Entertainment released the Jelly Christmas 2016 single album entitled Song Falling ( 니 가 내려와 ) as part of Jelly Christmas and their other music project Jelly Box . Have contributed Seo In-guk , Vixx , Gugudan, Park Yoon-ha, Park Jung-ah, Kim Gyu-sun, Kim Ye-won and Jiyul.
Trainee Yun Hee-seok has been representing the label in the second season of the casting show Produce 101 since April 7, 2017 .
