Jeme Tien Yow

Jeme Tien Yow (詹天佑; Pinyin : Zhān Tiānyòu; * 1861 ; † 1919 ) was a Chinese engineer and pioneer of railway construction. He is the builder of the first Chinese railway line from Beijing to Zhangjiakou to be built without foreign aid , which is now part of the Jing Bao railway line from Beijing to Baotou in Inner Mongolia .

The former residence of Jeme Tien Yow ( Zhan Tianyou guju ) in Wuhan has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-498) since 2001 .
