Matthias Hanke (Author)

Matthias Hanke (* 1967 in Wolfenbüttel , Lower Saxony ) is a German journalist , author and photographer.

Life

During his bank training he discovered the desire to travel and photography. He worked in Florida (USA) for a year and also took photos for his first slide show. Since then, Hanke has designed 10 slide shows, with which he is on tour in German-speaking countries in the winter months.

In 1993 he managed to cross Africa for the first time on the Morocco - South Africa route exclusively by public transport. His first book has been published about this extreme tour. Further trips to Africa, Canada , Norway and Iran followed . In the summer of 2010 he sailed the Yukon River by canoe from its source to its mouth in the Bering Sea .

Hanke lives in Braunschweig and works as a travel journalist and book author.
