Jennifer Brown
Jennifer Vera Brown (born February 18, 1972 in Gothenburg ) is a Swedish soul and pop singer .
biography
In the mid-1990s, Brown moved from Gothenburg to Stockholm to begin her career as a singer. At the beginning of 1994 her debut album Giving You the Best was released by BMG. The sound was typical of the early 1990s. This album achieved gold status in Sweden and includes a duet with Lenny Kravitz . In the spring of 1997, In My Garden , the second album, was released. The songs In My Garden and Adore were extracted from this.
At the end of 1998 the album Vera followed , which was able to place in Austria in the charts. The record is named after Brown's middle name and offers a sound that is geared towards an acoustic guitar and is therefore very different from its predecessors. Brown co-wrote all of the songs on the record. Produced by the successful producer Billy Mann , Vera sold so often in Sweden that she received gold status there and Jennifer Brown was nominated for the Swedish Grammy for best artist of the year. With the single Tuesday Afternoon , she gained international attention. The second single, Alive , was best known in Germany through a remix by DJ Paul van Dyk under the name We Are Alive . Tuesday Afternoon and Naked , both from the Vera album , were used in the television series G String Divas .
In the spring of 2003, Brown published her fourth album Home , from which the single Weak was decoupled. The record did not go on sale in Germany. In 2009 Brown took part in the Melodifestivalen , the Swedish pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest . However, she was eliminated in the second preliminary round and finished seventh with her title Never Been Here Before .
