Jens-Jörg Rieck

Jens Jörg Rieck (born January 23, 1963 in Eberswalde ) is a German sports reporter .

Life

Rieck has been working as a sports reporter for SWR and ARD since 1991 . He became known as a radio reporter with his specialties football, boxing, athletics and cross-country skiing . He is one of the well-known reporters of the Bundesliga conference (radio) and the sports show (television).

Rieck has reported on the Summer Olympics since 1992, the Winter Games since 2002 and the World Athletics Championships since 1993. In 2017, he was honored by the IAAF, the World Athletics Federation, in London for his 13th participation in the World Championships. He has been in action at soccer world championships since 1994. He is the only German radio reporter who has commented on all the finals of the soccer world and European championships between 2002 (Yokohama) and 2016 (Paris). In 2015, the Association of German Sports Journalists awarded Rieck the Herbert Zimmermann Prize for the second time for a report on the final .

Over a period of 14 years he commented on boxing's main fights in the first .

In March 2014, the magazine Der Spiegel reported that Rieck had worked for years as IM "Jörg Woydt" for the Ministry for State Security of the GDR (MfS). The journalist was able to make believable that he had never harmed anyone; with that he could save his job.

Rieck is the author of several children's books. In 2006 his first book, published two: one for King Mo . This was followed by Let's go Marlon, I see something, and that's you , April and New Year's Eve, as well as quarter mouse and tiger . In 2005 Rieck won the short story competition "Oberrheinischer Rollwagen", the only literature competition in Germany that is organized across borders by three countries (Germany, France, Switzerland).
