Zapp (subtitle: "Das Medienmagazin") is a media magazine on NDR television . The magazine deals with journalistic work and other media as well as their influence by third parties, such as the economy, politics or religious groups, i.e. lobbying . The topics covered are, for example, surreptitious advertising , “locked up journalists”, “media fuel exaggerated fears” or “women in the TV business”. The long-time Panorama boss Kuno Haberbusch was editor-in-chief at Zapp until summer 2009. Then the NDR journalist Steffen Eßbach headed the department for five years. Journalist Annette Leiterer has been editor-in-chief since February 2016. The current team composition can be viewed on the Zapp website.
Zapp is broadcast on Wednesdays from 11:20 p.m. to 11:50 p.m. on NDR and is repeated on 3sat , tagesschau24 and One . During the time of the European Football Championship in 2008 , the program was temporarily broadcast on the first . In November and December 2009 there were another five issues in the first. Since November 21, 2007, the NDR has made selected contributions by Zapp (and also from the satire show extra 3 ) available online under a Creative Commons license. All issues of Zapp are now also published on its own YouTube channel. Zapp has also been present on Facebook since the beginning of 2016 . With the issue of March 20, 2019, the broadcast, one of the last on NDR, was switched to HD .

The program started on April 14, 2002 and was initially moderated by Gerhard Delling . From March 9, 2003 to November 2005, Caren Miosga hosted the show. During her parental leave, the program was initially moderated by Inka Schneider and Anja Reschke , then mainly by Schneider, who announced her departure from Zapp in the program on December 16, 2016.
On August 8, 2019, it was announced that Anja Reschke will hand over the moderation to Kathrin Drehkopf and Johannes Jolmes, who will in future moderate the show alternately with Schreiber.
