Jens Beermann

Jens Beermann (born May 4, 1959 - June 1997 ) was a German soccer player . He played 76 games in the 2nd Bundesliga .

Life

Beermann moved from OSC Bremerhaven to FC St. Pauli in 1982 . Beermann completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk . In 1984 and 1986 he rose to the 2nd Bundesliga with the Hamburg team. St. Pauli's trainer at the time, Willi Reimann, described Beermann as a “hardworking Lieschen”, as a strong-willed and reliable player. In the game year 1986/87 Beermann reached the promotion round to the Bundesliga with St. Pauli, but missed the leap into the "upper house" with the team. In 1988 the midfielder left St. Pauli and from then on played for the first division club 1. SC Norderstedt . He ran a restaurant in Hamburg-Altona , with which he got into economic difficulties. As a trainer, he worked in the amateur area at SV Blankenese . In June 1997 Beermann's body was found in a forest in Pinneberg  , he had put an end to his life.
