Jens Graul

Jens Graul (born December 21, 1950 in Aachen ; † July 8, 2018 ) was a retired German city ​​councilor . D. and author.

Graul studied 1969-1975 Architecture at the RWTH Aachen ( engineer ). In 1978 he passed the second state examination. In 1979 he started as a building assessor in the planning office of the city of Wilhelmshaven . In 1986 he became a full-time city councilor.

In 1996 he was with Peter Singer at the Faculty 3 - Social Sciences at the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg with the dissertation The city on orders. Structural change and conversion in Wilhelmshaven to Dr. rer. pole. PhD. Most recently, Graul was the city's head of culture and the environment, and from 2013 to 2015 he was also head of culture.

From 1988 to 2002 he was a member of the board of the Friends of the German Naval Museum in Wilhelmshaven, then a board member. He was co-editor of the series Kleine Schriftenreihe on military and naval history ( Verlag Dr. Dieter Winkler ).
