Dieter Härtwig

Dieter Härtwig (born July 18, 1934 in Dresden ) is a German dramaturge , musicologist and author of numerous works on Dresden's music history and its personalities.

After graduating from the Kreuzschule , Härtwig studied musicology and German at the University of Leipzig . It was in 1963 with a thesis on Rudolf Wagner-Régeny Dr. phil. PhD.

He worked as a dramaturge at the Mecklenburg State Theater in Schwerin and at the Saxony State Theaters in Radebeul . From 1965 to 1997 he was chief dramaturge of the Dresden Philharmonic , and also deputy artistic director for many years.

The honorary professor at the Institute for Musicology at the Dresden Academy of Music wrote numerous works and contributions, for example to the Dresden Philharmonic and the Dresden Kreuzchor ; in addition, numerous artist biographies come from his pen. In addition, he was involved in the Dresden Music Festival , the Saxon Music Council and was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Saxon State Library - Dresden State and University Library .
