Filial church hl. Johannes Nepomuk in Bogenneusiedl

The Roman Catholic branch church Bogenneusiedl of the mother parish of St. Nikolaus in Wolfpassing is located in the center of the village of Bogenneusiedl in the Hochleithen municipality in the Mistelbach district in Lower Austria . It is consecrated to St. John Nepomuk and belongs to the Wolkersdorf deanery in the vicariate Unter dem Manhartsberg of the Archdiocese of Vienna . The building is a listed building .

history

Bogenneusiedl has been a branch of the parish St. Nikolaus in Wolfpassing since 1560. In 1765, under the village judge Johann Neuburg, the community built a chapel in the basement of the tower, according to a partially preserved inscription. This initially had no altar and was not suitable for holding a Holy Mass , so that the faithful had to attend the service in Wolfpassing. Since a sacristy was not added until 1845, it can be assumed that an altar should already have been available by this time at the latest. Nevertheless, Holy Mass has only been celebrated in Bogenneusiedl every Sunday since around 1935.

In 1934 the church was renovated for the first time, replacing the simple stained glass windows with stained glass windows donated by the local residents. Despite a renewed renovation from 1976 to 1978, the rise of damp could not be prevented, so that on the occasion of a renewed renovation in 1996 the masonry of the church was cut through and re-colored inside and out.

The wooden organ gallery dates from the 19th century and the figural stained glass of the church windows is marked 1934 . The individual windows show pictures of the Holy Heart Mary , the Holy Heart of Jesus , as well as the evangelists Matthew , Mark , Luke and John .
