Jens Jordan (politician)

Jens Jordan (born April 24, 1943 in Nordrach ) is a German politician ( FDP ). From June to October 1994 he was a member of the German Bundestag and from 2000 to 2005 a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life and work

After attending elementary school and graduating from high school in 1962, Jordan studied chemistry at Heidelberg University . In 1969 he moved to the University of Dortmund , where he graduated as a chemist in 1971. In 1974 he was awarded the dissertation topic carboxylates of subgroup 4 of the Periodic Table of Elements for Doctor of Science doctorate . From 1975 he was employed as an employee in the steel industry, first at Hoesch AG in Dortmund , then at ThyssenKrupp AG in Duisburg .

politics

Jordan joined the FDP in 1969. From 1976 to 1978 he was deputy chairman of the FDP district association in Dortmund, from 1989 to 1988 chairman of the FDP district association Recklinghausen and from 1982 to 2013 chairman of the FDP city association in Waltrop. Furthermore, from 1990 he was a board member of the FDP district association Ruhr.

Jordan has been a member of the Waltrop City Council since 1999 , of which he was a member from 1989 to 1994. Until 2014 he was chairman of the FDP council group.

On June 8, 1994, he moved to the German Bundestag via the FDP's reserve list for the deceased member of parliament Klaus Beckmann , of which he was a member until the end of the twelfth legislative period in October 1994.

In the state elections in 2000 , he entered the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia, to which he was a member from June 2, 2000 to June 2, 2005, via the state list of his party. In the state parliament he was a member of the committee for economy, medium-sized businesses and technology.
