Klaus Beckmann (politician)

Klaus Beckmann (born August 11, 1944 in Ennigloh (today Bünde in the Herford district ), † May 27, 1994 in Essen ) was a German politician ( FDP ).

From 1989 to 1992 he was Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Minister of Economics .

education and profession

After graduating from high school , Beckmann studied law and political science in Cologne . In 1964 he became a member of the Corps Hansea Cologne . He finished his studies in 1970 with the first state examination and in 1974 with the second state examination . He was then first speaker at the to 1976 Barge - professional association in Duisburg operates. In 1977 he established himself as a lawyer in Essen and joined Steag AG .

Klaus Beckmann was married and the father of three daughters.

Political party

Beckmann had been a member of the FDP since 1966. From 1980 to 1992 he was chairman of the FDP district association Ruhr and was also a member of the FDP state executive in North Rhine-Westphalia . From 1988 he was a permanent guest on the FDP federal executive committee .

From 1975 to 1979 Beckmann was chairman of the FDP parliamentary group in the city council of Essen.

From 1980 until his death Beckmann was a member of the German Bundestag . From 1983 to 1989 he was parliamentary manager of the FDP parliamentary group .

Public offices

In July 1989, Klaus Beckmann was used as Parliamentary Secretary to the Federal Minister of Economics of the Federal Chancellor Helmut Kohl led government appointed. Because of a serious illness he resigned from this post in September 1992.
