Jens Paeslack (born February 25, 1974 in Hamburg ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach .
Club career
Jens Paeslack played in his youth at various clubs in his hometown Hamburg. On the recommendation of the then Hertha player Eyjólfur Sverrisson , he moved to the Icelandic club ÍBV Vestmannaeyjar in 1997 and celebrated winning the championship, the cup and the Super Cup. At the beginning of the following season, the striker played in the first qualifying round of the 1998/99 UEFA Champions League and was eliminated with his team against FK Obilić . A short time later he switched to the German top division club TSV Pansdorf and made his breakthrough there in Germany. Although he had an offer from Bundesliga club TSV 1860 Munich , he decided to switch to the second division club Karlsruher SC . After a season with Baden, Paeslack went to the Scottish first division club FC St. Mirren . However, the club could not hold the class and so Paeslack went on to the Cypriot first division club AEL Limassol . During the winter break of the 2001/02 season, he returned to the third division club Stuttgarter Kickers in Germany. After the season, the striker moved to SV Sandhausen in the league, in which he also only played for half a year.
From January 2003 Paeslack was back in the 2nd Bundesliga at SSV Reutlingen 05 . At his next station, Borussia Fulda , he played in the 2003/04 season in the Oberliga Hessen and left the club after a year to move to FC Sachsen Leipzig , who had previously been relegated from the regional league to the Oberliga Nordost. After six months, Paeslack moved on to Kickers Emden due to internal differences , with whom he was able to celebrate the sovereign win of the Oberliga Nord at the end of the season. But he did not follow his team into the third division and moved to SV Waldhof Mannheim in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg. However, due to a serious knee injury, he was no longer used here and ended his active career in 2006.
Coaching career
Jens Paeslack took his place in the coaching bench for the first time in the 2010/11 season and was initially assistant to Heino Stemmann at Germania Schnelsen in his hometown of Hamburg. The club had previously been promoted to the Hamburg Oberliga . In November 2010 he took over as head coach and headed the team until his resignation on December 22, 2011. He then went to the United Arab Emirates , where he has been running a football school since 2012.
