Jens Sembdner (born January 20, 1967 in Wermsdorf ) is a German musician and member of the pop group Die Prinzen .

Life

Jens Sembdner learned to play the piano at the age of five. From 1976 to 1983 he sang in the Dresden Kreuzchor .

From 1983 to 1987 he played with various dance bands in villages and in large cities. His first band was called Tacton . During this time he began various courses of study, such as home educator and sports teacher , later singing and piano at the music college "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig. He also played funk music in the band Jeunesse . When the band needed a new singer, Sembdner met Sebastian Krumbiegel . Together with Wolfgang Lenk they formed the band Herzbuben that later because of confusion with the Wildhearts in The Prince has been renamed.

His wife Silva died in November 2001 at the age of 34. At first it was said that she had died of undetected poisoning . Three weeks later, Jens Sembdner had to be hospitalized for a nervous breakdown because he could not cope with the death of his wife. All group appointments were canceled until the end of the year. It later emerged that Silva Sembdner had committed suicide using medication . In October 2016, the book From below, it only goes up: My way back to life , in which Sembdner tells of his life since the death of his wife. Sembdner has been in a relationship with Torgau's Lord Mayor Romina Barth since the end of 2017 .

Solo project

Sembdner runs a solo project under the name JES41 , whose first album "Da, wo du bist" was released on November 9, 2007. The label JES41 refers to a text by the prophet Isaiah in the Bible: "Do not be afraid, I am with you!"

Motorsport

In 2011 he took part as a guest starter in a racing event of the Mini Challenge Germany .
