Jens Vollert

Jens Vollert (born February 17, 1939 in Rendsburg ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Vollert graduated from the Herder School in Rendsburg and studied economics and business administration in Kiel , Frankfurt am Main and Würzburg with a degree in economics. He then worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Economic Policy at the University of Würzburg , where he was also a member of the Senate. He was active in the management of an industrial company, personal assistant to the Federal Minister of Defense for economic issues, lecturer at the command academy of the Bundeswehr and head of the economics section of the social sciences group.

In the period from 1975 to 1985 Vollert pursued various local political activities as a member and chairman of the SPD local association Wedel and member and deputy chairman of the SPD district association Pinneberg . He was councilor and city councilor in Wedel and parliamentary representative of the minister for nature, environment and regional development. From 1983 to 1996 he sat in the state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein , from 1987 directly elected in the state electoral district of Pinneberg-Elbmarschen .
