Jerônimo Mazzarotto

Jerônimo Mazzarotto (born April 11, 1898 in Curitiba , Paraná , Brazil ; † May 23, 1999 ibid) was auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Curitiba .

Life

Mazzarotto received on 24 April 1921, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

Pope Pius XII appointed him in 1957 titular bishop of Arsinoë in Arcadia and auxiliary bishop of his home diocese. He received the episcopal ordination on July 21, 1957 by Archbishop Armando Lombardi , Apostolic Nuncio in Brazil. He attended the fourth session of the Second Vatican Council .

On May 8, 1970, Pope Paul VI took his resignation as auxiliary bishop of Curitiba. Jerônimo Mazzarotto died in 1999 at the age of 101 in Curitiba as the oldest Catholic bishop in the world.
