Village church

Jersika is a village in the Līvāni district in Latgale in Latvia . It is located about 10 kilometers south of Līvāni and 165 kilometers from Riga . The A 6 motorway and the railway line from Riga to Daugavpils run through the town.

history

The Jersika Castle was the center of the Principality of Jersika from 1190 to 1239.
