Jerzy Antoni Kronhold (born January 24, 1946 in Cieszyn ) is a Polish poet and diplomat .
Life
Kronhold attended high school in Cieszyn. After graduating from high school in 1963, he studied Polish studies at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow until 1968 . As a student he belonged to the literary group Sowizdral in Krakow and made his debut in 1965 with the poem Swojenie , which appeared in the Kurier Akademicki edited by this group . After completing his studies, he was a member of the Teraz poet group at the Pod Jaszczurami student club in Kraków from 1968 to 1975 and published poetry in the student magazine , which was associated with the group. He also published in Współczesność and Zwrot . From 1973 to 1977 he studied directing at the State Theater Academy in Warsaw , where he defended his thesis in 1984 . He then directed theater and television productions.
From 1991 to 1995 and from 2007 to 2011 he was Consul General in Ostrava . From 2000 to 2006 he was director of the Polish Institute in Bratislava .
