Jerzy Maćków

Jerzy Jarosław Maćków [ ˈjεʒɨ jaˈrɔswaf ˈmaʨkuf ] (* 1961 in Wilamowa , Poland ) is a German-Polish political scientist and blogger .

Life

Mackow studied Political Science , Philosophy and Modern History at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan and at the University of Hamburg , where he 1992 Winfried Steffani for Dr. phil. ( The crisis of totalitarianism in Poland. The totalitarianism theory as an analysis concept of the Soviet socialist state. An analysis of the systemic and structural crisis of the People's Republic of Poland in the 1970s and 1980s ).

From 1993 to 1999 he worked as a research assistant at the Institute for International Relations at the Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg ; there he completed his habilitation in 1998 ( The construction of political stability. Poland and Russia in the upheavals of the eighties and nineties ). He then worked on a research project on nation and civil society in Central and Eastern Europe until 2002 and taught at Viadrina University . Since 2002 he has held the chair for comparative political science with a focus on Eastern and Central Europe at the University of Regensburg .
