Georg Wostal

Georg Adolf Wostal , Polish Jerzy Adolf Wostal (born December 6, 1914 in Königshütte , † February 12, 1991 in Passau ) was a Polish football player of German origin.

Career

During almost his entire career as a center forward , he remained loyal to a single club, the AKS Królewska Huta / Königshütte or FV Germania Königshütte , as the club was called during the Second World War . In 1937 he was second with his club in the Polish championship and took second place in the scorers list. During the Second World War he worked in the editorial office of the Upper Silesian Wanderer , so he switched to Vorwärts-Rasensport Gleiwitz , with which he twice (1940 and 1941) reached the finals for the German championship.

After the Second World War , Georg Wostal had his residence in Passau . After the end of his active career, he worked as a football coach .

In the national team of Poland, he played eleven internationals in the years 1936-1939, including a B international game in which he scored four goals. His debut in the B selection took place on September 6, 1936 in Riga against Latvia (3: 3), where he also scored his first goal. His first international match was in qualifying for the World Cup in France (1938) on October 10, 1937 in Warsaw against Yugoslavia (4-0), in which he also scored a goal.
