Jesús Unanua Becerril (born June 23, 1969 in Pamplona , Navarra ) is a former Spanish football goalkeeper .
biography
Unanua began his career in nearby Osasuna . For the CA Osasuna he played in his youth and came in the 1989-1990 season to his first professional appearances in the Primera División . But despite 13 appearances in his first season with the professionals, he did not make it to become number 1. Therefore, he was loaned to Albacete Balompié for one season, but remained there only a substitute goalkeeper. So after only a year he returned to Osasuna and stayed there behind youngster Javier López Vallejo as a substitute goalkeeper.
He then moved to CD Leganés in the Segunda División for three years and played a total of 76 games for the club. In 1999 he signed at the same time as his old companion Vallejo at Villarreal . In the 2002-2003 season but both had to give way to the newly signed José Manuel Reina and Unanua left the club after the season. From 2003 to 2006 he played in the Segunda División for Deportivo Xerez and FC Elche .
Then he moved to FC Alicante and thus in the third Spanish league . But with the club he was able to achieve second class for the first time in 52 years, after having been promoted in 2007-2008.
On June 17, 2009 , he announced that he would end his career. Three days later he played his last game against the also relegated Sevilla Atlético team .
