Career
Club career
Jesús Ferreira was born on December 24, 2000 in the port city of Santa Marta, the capital of the Department del Magdalena, in northern Colombia, as the son of the football player David Ferreira . When David Ferreira came to the United States with his family in 2009 after signing with the major league soccer franchise FC Dallas , he also enrolled his then eight-year-old son at FC Dallas. There he went through all the junior league classes and was used, among other things, in the 2015/16 season for the U-16 academy team of the franchise. In this season he was with the team superior champions of his age group, with the FC Dallas was able to prevail this season with the U-18 team as champions. In this championship season he scored 26 goals. Since his promotion to the Akademie des Franchises in 2013, Ferreira has scored goals in 48 of 50 games as a starter - not counting the 2017/18 season.
Via the Homegrown Player Rule , Ferreira got a professional contract with the Texans in November 2016 and then made his competitive debut on June 4, 2017 when he came on the lawn for Roland Lamah in the 71st minute of play and in the 89th minute, after submission by Michael Barrios , who scored the goal for the 6-2 final against Real Salt Lake . His goal made him the second youngest goal scorer at 16 years and 161 days after the hard-to-beat record of Freddy Adu , who was just 14 years and 320 days old when he scored on April 17, 2004. At the same time, Jesús and David Ferreira were considered to be the third father-son team after this goal, who managed to score at least one goal in Major League Soccer. Before that, only Alex Bunbury and Teal Bunbury , as well as Adolfo Valencia and José Adolfo Valencia , were successful .
In the further course of the season he sat on the bench of the professional team twice, otherwise he was part of the academy team.
National team career
In November 2016, the U-17 national team of the United States was called up for the first time for a training camp . However, there were no official international appearances.
