Life
Yevgeny Nikolayevich Trubetskoi from the princely family Trubetskoi was the son of Nikolai Petrowitsch Trubezkois (1828-1900) and brother Sergei Nikolajewitsch Trubezkois (1862-1905) and Grigory Nikolajewitsch Trubezkois .
In 1906 Trubezkoi published the magazine Moskowskaja nedelja ( Russian Московская неделя , scientific transliteration Moskovskaja nedelja ), published by his brother Sergei Trubezkoi († 1905 ), which was already confiscated in the print shop.
In 1906 he was appointed professor of legal history by Moscow University.
He had a platonic love with the patron and philanthropist Margarita Morosowa (1873-1958).
Trubetskoi welcomed the outbreak of war in 1914. While he himself described his war writings as “writings against nationalism”, the writer Sinaida Hippius (1869–1945) declared Yevgeny Nikolayevich Trubetskoi in her diary to be an apologist for “orthodox patriotism ”.
In the Russian Civil War he joined Anton Denikin's anti-Bolshevik army. He died of typhus .
