Evgeni Witaljewitsch Mironov ( Russian Евгений Витальевич Миронов , scientific transliteration Evgenij Vital'evič Mironov ; born  November 29, 1966 in Saratow , Soviet Union) is an important Russian film, television and theater actor. As a film actor he is one of the leading character actors in his country, since 2004 he has held the title of People's Artist of Russia .

Life

Mironov was born the son of Vitali and Tamara Mironov in the city of Saratov. His father was a chauffeur all his life , but the family was still very interested in art and also worked in the amateur field. The boy grew up in a parental home that had shaped him since early childhood. Even as a schoolboy he decided to become an actor. His sister Oksana Mironova is a well-known ballet dancer in Moscow .

At the age of 14 he was accepted at the Slonov Drama School in Saratov, which is also open to young people. He stayed there until 1986. Then he moved to Moscow, where he studied at the Moscow Art Theater Studio School from 1986 to 1990. In 1990 he joined the Oleg Tabakov Ensemble, to which he has remained partially as an actor to this day.

Although he had played minor roles in films prior to 1988, his real film career began that year with The Keresene Salesman's Wife . From then on it went quickly and many more productions for television and cinema followed.

But the theater remained his great passion. He had his best-known role there in the play The Passions of Bumbarash , which ran continuously with him in one of the leading roles from 1993 to 2011. Since 2006 he has also been artistic director of the Theater of Nations in Moscow. In the same year he founded his own theater company, the Yevgeny Mironow Theater Company . Well-known international directors of plays in which he starred include Peter Stein and Thomas Ostermeier .

He is also involved in the Presidential Council for Art and Culture , where he works as a consultant. This council is responsible for cultural life at the political level in Russia. Yevgeny Mironov lives and works in Moscow. He is widely regarded as one of the best and most important living actors in Russia.
