Jewgenija Alexandrovna Starzewa ( Russian Евгения Александровна Старцева , English transcription: Yevgeniya Aleksandrovna Startseva ; born February 12, 1989 in Chelyabinsk ) is a Russian volleyball player .

Career

Starzewa began her career in a youth team in her hometown. In 2004 she went to Avtodor-Metar Chelyabinsk . On September 8, 2007, the setter made her debut in the Russian national team . In 2009 she reached the final of the Grand Prix with Russia . In 2010 she became world champion in Japan when the Russians beat Brazil in the final . Then Starzewa moved to VK Dynamo Krasnodar . With the new club, she reached the final of the CEV Cup against Robur Tiboni Urbino in 2011 . In 2012 she took part in the Olympic Games in London and finished fifth with Russia after leaving the quarterfinals. After the tournament she moved to VK Dynamo Kazan .
