The Świdwie (German: Neuendorfer See ) is a lake in the Ueckermünder Heide , the eastern part of which is now called Puszcza Wkrzańska and belongs to the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship .

The Świdwie is located in the far north-west of Poland and can be reached from Szczecin on Voivodship Road 115 via Tanowo ( Falkenwalde ) in 20 kilometers.

On the edge of the Ueckermünder Heide lies the 890 hectare lake in the middle of a nature reserve . It is the Rezerwat Przyrody Świdwie , which is one of the 13 reserves recognized by the Ramsar Convention 1984 in Poland.

On the banks of the Świdwie, the villages of Bolków ( Schlangenhorst ) in the south, Węgornik ( Eelgraben ) in the east and Zalesie ( Sonnenwald ) in the north, which belong to the Gmina Dobra ( Daber ) and Gmina Police ( Pölitz ) in the Police district .

The Gunica ( Aalbach ) flows through the lake, which rises in the Stolsko ( castle lake ) near Stolec ( Stolzenburg ) and flows into the Oder after 35 kilometers east of Jasienica ( Jasenitz ) and is a popular canoe route .
