The Ueckermünder Heide is an extensive forest and heather area in the far north-east of Germany. Large parts belong to the Am Stettiner Haff Nature Park . The eastern part of the area belongs to the Republic of Poland , there under the name Puszcza Wkrzańska .

The region is about 1000 km². In the north it borders on the Stettiner Haff , in the east on the Oder . In the west, the lowland of the Friedländer Große Wiese forms the border, in the south the line between Stettin and Pasewalk . The Ueckermünder Heide is a flat land area, only a few points reach heights over 20  m above sea level. NN (exception: Dachsberge south of Hintersee 48 m). The forest area is crossed by the Uecker , the Randow and the Zarow . There are also numerous protected moors, especially in the border area with Poland. The swamps were also the reason that large areas of the heather were settled relatively late. In the 17th century it was mainly colonists who built charcoal burners and glassworks. The frequent occurrence of lawn iron stone was the basis for the metal processing companies, primarily in Torgelow . In the middle of the area there is an approx. 50 km² military training area that is used by the Bundeswehr (barracks in Torgelow and Eggesin ). Today, the Ueckermünder Heide has forestry, but also increasingly tourist importance. There is also a diverse flora and fauna. A wolf pack with offspring has also lived in the Ueckermünder Heide since 2015 . In the forests and moors breed and. a. Cranes, lesser eagles and sea eagles.
