history
Entepöl used to write Entenpohl (1779) and Entepoehl (1865). There was a forester's house in the forest from time immemorial, and in 1775 a pitch furnace was in operation here.
Until 1945, Forsthaus Entepöl was a place of residence in the Hintersee community in the Ueckermünde district of the Pomeranian province . The place of residence Forsthaus Entepöl belonged to the Seegrund district; the responsible district office was in Ueckermünde.
After the end of the Second World War , Forsthaus Entepöl was placed under Polish administration. Entepöl was renamed Dobieszczyn.
traffic
Until 1945, the village was accessible via a train station of the Randower Bahn five kilometers away . The overland connection to Hintersee, which had been interrupted since the end of the Second World War, was restored with the opening of the Hintersee-Dobieszczyn border crossing in June 2008 and has been continuously passable for cars since then.
church
A large majority of the population present in Forsthaus Entepöl before 1945 belonged to the Protestant creed. The Protestant parish of Ahlbeck was responsible for the Protestants in Forsthaus Entepöl, and the Catholic parish of Hoppenwalde for the Catholics .
Attractions
Near the village on the western side of the border with the Federal Republic of Germany on the road from Ueckermünde to Stettin there is a memorial stone for the Pomeranian Duke Barnim II and the so-called Barnim Cross. The two monuments stand at the point where Barnim II is said to have been killed by the knight Vidanz Munckerwitz from Vogelsang on May 28, 1295, according to a legend.
