Jiří Císler

Jiří Císler (born February 4, 1928 in Budweis , † April 17, 2004 in Prague ) was a Czech actor, playwright, director, musician and composer.

Life

Císler studied at a commercial academy, but soon turned to art and trained as a violinist . From 1947 he worked in Jihočeské divadlo (South Bohemian Theater) in Budweis, from the 1960s he moved to various theaters in Prague, Ústí nad Labem (here in Kladivadlo ), Mladá Boleslav and Pardubice. 1971-1973 he was at the Prague cabaret Semafor and 1973 until 1978. Theater Ateliér , along with Josef Dvořák worked in Prague, where he has directed numerous stage productions. From 1978 he worked in the Činoherní club in Prague as an actor. His project Hravé divadlo (Playful Theater), which he founded in Prague in 1990, had to be ended after a year.
