Jiří Fryš (born March 11, 1950 in Prague ) is a Czech football coach .

Coaching career

Fryš took over Dukla Prague in early 1993 in the last season of the Czechoslovak league and led the team from last place to relegation. After six initial defeats in the 1993/94 season, Fryš was dismissed. In January 1994 Fryš was coach at the then second division SKPP Znojmo , but could no longer prevent the team from falling into the third division. Fryš stayed in Znojmo until 1998 . In the summer of 1999 he took over the FC VMG Kyjov in the 3rd division MSFL, in the course of the following 2000/01 season he was replaced by Zdeněk Mareček.

Fryš rose in the 2001/02 season with FC Group Dolní Kounice in the 2nd division . After only three points from nine games, he was released on October 9, 2002. During the winter break, Fryš took over the league competitor SK LeRK Prostějov . In the 2003/04 season he was assistant coach at Viktoria Pilsen , in November 2004 he became assistant coach at SFC Opava . In Opava Fryš stayed until September 2005, then he became a coach at the third division club MSK Břeclav. During the season Fryš was replaced by Radek Rabušic.

From the 2006/07 season Fryš worked as an assistant coach at Sigma Olomouc , at the end of April 2008 he took over the post of head coach from the dismissed Martin Pulpit on an interim basis until the end of the season .
