The first SC Znojmo is a Czech football club from the south Moravian Znojmo . Under the name SKPP Znojmo , the club was second class from 1992 to 1994 and from 2010. In 2013, Znojmo was promoted to the first division , but the team was relegated directly from it. Numerous later first division players completed their military service at the former police and army sports club.

Club history

1. SC Znojmo was founded in 1952 as DSO Rudá Hvězda Znojmo. The name Rudá Hvězda , German Red Star , was used by all the clubs that were subordinate to the Ministry of the Interior, that is, in fact, police sports clubs.

RH Znojmo rose in 1962 to the then third-class Krajský přebor and immediately took fourth place in the South Moravia relay. In 1965 Znojmo won his group, but remained third class. Instead of eleven squadrons of Krajský přebor , six groups of the so-called Divize formed the third Czechoslovak league. There the team could only hold up until 1967 and was relegated to fourth division. The resurgence followed immediately, but the Znojmo people could only stay in the Divize for a year .

For almost 20 years, the spectators in Znojmo had to wait for a return to the Divize , which was now only the fourth highest division in the former ČSSR . There Znojmo stayed only in the season 1987/88 and marched straight through to the 3rd division, the so-called II. ČNL . There, too, the Moravia played right at the front. In the season 1988/89 it was enough to place seven, 1989/90 even to third place. Before the start of the season, the club had merged with TJ Sokol Práče, after the end of the season it was renamed SKP Znojmo-Práče.

In the following year, the SKP Znojmo fought a long open promotion duel with TJ TŽ Třinec , but ultimately remained two points behind his rival. In the 1991/92 season, the team was able to celebrate promotion to the second Czechoslovak league. It was the first second division season in the club's history and at the same time the last season together for Czechoslovakia.

Coach Jiří Fryš brought the team to eleventh place with 24 points from 30 games and thus narrowly avoided the relegation games. What had become apparent in the first year of the second division became reality in 1993/94. With only three wins and a total of 16 points, Znojmo proved too weak for the 2nd division and was relegated to the MSFL. There, the team finished midfield three times in a row before they were bottom of the table in 1997/98 and relegated to the Divize.

The association, which had already been renamed VTJ Znojmo in 1995, changed its name again in 1999, this time to Fotbal Znojmo. Two years later the club merged with FC Znojmo to form 1. SC Znojmo. In the 2001/02 season, the team was promoted to the MSFL, where it landed again and again in midfield at the end of the season. 2009/10 they got the title of MSFL and rose again to the second division. In the 2012/2013 season the 1st SC Znojmo took 1st place in the 2nd league and thus rose to the Gambrinus league . The team had to play their home games in Brno , as their own stadium did not meet the requirements of the first division. In the 2013/14 season , Znojmo finished last and was relegated again.

Stages

RH Znojmo has played in the so-called Čafka Stadium in the city center since its inception. The name of the square is derived from ČAFC Znojmo. This now non-existent club had previously used the 5000-seat stadium. It was not until 1983 that this ashes was converted into a lawn. The game against Kyjov in 1985 saw 4,200 spectators - a club record to date.

In the summer of 2000, the owner of the VTJ Znojmo stadium was so deeply indebted that the area was threatened with demolition. Eventually, the city of Znojmo stepped in and saved the stadium with a cash injection. Since the return to the Divize in 2002, the club has played mostly in the stadium v Husových sadech , also known as the Husovy Sady stadium . The capacity of this stadium equipped with a running track is around 5000 spectators. It was built from 1952 to 1958 and used to hold up to 8,000 visitors.

In the first division season 2013/14 Znojmo had to play its home games in the city stadium in Brno , because the own stadium did not meet the first division requirements.
