Middle Caicos , including Grand Caicos called, is the largest island of the Caicos Islands and is part of the British overseas territory of the Turks and Caicos Islands .

The island is only separated from the neighboring islands of North Caicos and East Caicos by narrow inlets. The area of Middle Caicos is 144.2 km². In addition, there are extensive swamp and mud flats on the south coast, so that the land area is considerably larger at low water (total about 294 km²). The north coast, on the other hand, consists of limestone cliffs and long sandy beaches. Middle Caicos is home to the largest cave in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

On the north coast are the villages of Lorimers, Bambarra and the main town Conch Bar . 168 people live on the island ( 2012 census ). Middle Caicos has lost almost half of its inhabitants since 2001, when 301 people were still living there, and is the most sparsely populated of all inhabited islands in the Caicos Islands.
