Water Cay is an uninhabited island in the chain of western Caicos Islands . Politically, it belongs to the British overseas territory of the Turks and Caicos Islands .
The small island is part of a group of about 20 flat sand islands that lie between the west coast of North Caicos and the northeast coast of Providenciales . Water Cay is only separated from Pine Cay to the east by a narrow estuary ; Today the passage is so silted up in the north that the neighboring island can be reached on foot at least when the water is low.
In contrast to the eastern sand islands Pine Cay and Parrot Cay, there is currently no holiday or bungalow complex on Water Cay . However, the island is offered for sale.
