Grand Turk Iceland is the largest and northernmost island of the Turks Islands , which together, northwest with about 35 kilometers Caicos Islands , the British overseas territory of the Turks and Caicos Islands form.
On Grand Turk is Cockburn Town , the capital of the Turks and Caicos Islands. Grand Turk is considered the administrative, historical, cultural and financial center of the overseas territory and with 4831 inhabitants (as of 2012) also has the second largest population of all islands after Providenciales . JAGS McCartney International Airport is not far from Cockburn Town .
