Jiří Rosický (born November 11, 1977 in Prague ) is a former Czech football player .

Career

Jiří Rosický started at the small Prague club ČKD Kompresory at the age of nine . In 1988 he was signed by Sparta Prague , but a curious situation arose: the father Jiří Rosický senior only agreed to the transfer on the condition that Sparta would also sign Jiří's three years younger brother Tomáš . Sparta, more convinced of Jiří's talent than Tomáš, finally agreed.

In 1996, Rosický, one of the most hopeful talents in Czech football, was signed by Atlético Madrid . He initially played successfully for the B-Team and the Czech U-21 team and was about to make the leap to the A-Team when he sustained a serious knee injury which, as it later turned out, seriously affected his career. Worse than the injury itself, however, was the mistreatment of the Spanish doctors. Jiří Rosický was out for months and couldn't get back on his feet in Madrid .

In 2000 he was transferred to the then Austrian Bundesliga club SW Bregenz , where he played regularly and was able to almost continue his old form. He was about to move to Sparta Prague, which ultimately did not materialize. He again signed a one-year contract in Bregenz . The other years in Vorarlberg didn't go so well.

In the summer of 2003, Rosický tried again at Sparta, but no longer prevailed. The eternal talent played 13 times for the B-team, moved to FK Jablonec 97 after only six months and made his debut in the 1st Czech league at the age of 26. By the end of the season he had only two more substitutions.

In August 2005 he moved to the third division Bohemians Prague . His brother Tomáš was even present at the first training session, a major media event after the revival of the bankrupt club. Rosický could no longer meet the expectations of him in the third division, even though he initially played regularly. After the promotion in 2006, coach Zbyněk Busta no longer relied on the injury-prone Rosický, who was only used a few times in the B-team, and suggested him to look for a new club, as it was no longer enough for the 2nd division. Jiří Rosický gave up fighting his left knee and ended his career in December 2006 at the age of 29.

Then Jiří Rosický began to work for the agency ISM of the player agent Pavel Paska.
