Jiří Vítek (born May 14, 1977 in Hradec Králové ) is a Czech handball player .

Career

Jiří Vítek played in the Czech Republic with Dukla Prague and Náchod before moving to France in 2000, where he was under contract with GFCO Ajaccio HB and Istres Ouest Provence HB. For the 2007/08 season, the 1.95 meter tall back player moved to the German second division Bergischer HC , with whom he rose to the first division in 2011. After relegation in 2012, he was promoted to the first division again in 2013. After his contract with BHC was not renewed, Vítek signed a two-year contract with the then third division club HSC 2000 Coburg for the 2013/14 season .

For the Czech national team , Vítek has played 89 international matches so far , in which he scored 216 goals. He took part in the European handball championships in 2008 , 2010 and 2012 .

Jiří Vítek is married and has two children. After graduating from high school, he learned to be an electromechanic.
