Jigal Naor
Jigal Naor ( Hebrew יגאל נאור, Born June 25, 1958 in Giw'atajim , Israel ) is an Israeli actor of Iraqi descent.
Life
After attending Tel Aviv University, the "massive character actor" initially played successful theater roles. His first film appearance was in 1987 in a supporting role in the co-production War Zone with Christopher Walken . In 1996 he received the Israeli Film Academy award for "Best Supporting Actor" for his role as school principal in the fantasy comedy Clara Hakedosha . Jigal Naor first found international attention in Steven Spielberg's film Munich in 2005 as the actor playing the representative of the PLO in France, Mahmoud Hamshari, who was killed in 1972 by an Israeli commando as a suspected member of Black September by a telephone detonated bomb. In 2007 he played the leading supporting role of the Arab police chief in the thriller Powerless with Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal , who in the course of the plot has to realize that his daughter is tragically involved in the activities of the terrorists he is looking for. 2008 he played in the BBC - Miniseries The Hussein: In the center of power , the main role of the Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein , his apartment in Tel Aviv was during the Second Gulf War, fired upon by Iraqi missiles. In 2010 he starred in Paul Greengrass ' film Green Zone with Matt Damon .
