Jillert Cammenga
Jillert Cammenga (born May 17, 1911 in Enkhuizen ; † 1993 ) was a Dutch composer , arranger and conductor .
Life
Jillert Cammenga learned flugelhorn at the age of 12 in the municipal music corps. His teacher was Frans van Diepenbeek from Amsterdam . Since the fanfare orchestra became a harmony orchestra , he had to learn the clarinet and saxophone. Shortly before the Second World War, he married and moved to Zwolle . There he became an active member of the municipal orchestra and conductor of the fanfare orchestra Kunst naar Arbeid in Ittersum. After the Second World War and during the Indonesian War, he was commissioned to set up a music corps van de Geneeskundige Troepen in Utrecht , which lasted until 1957. In 1955 he moved with his family to Amersfoort and he was also active as a reviewer and author of articles in the magazine Musica . He studied harmony and instrumentation privately with Gerard Boedijn , Piet van Mever H. Lureman and J. Jakma . In 1973 he became a teacher at the music school in Amersfoort.
