Jim Laurier

Jim Laurier (* 1954 in New Hampshire ) is an American painter and illustrator .

life and work

He spent his childhood in New Hampshire and lives in Massachusetts (2012). Two years after attending and graduating from Keene High School , he enrolled at the Paier Art Academy in Hamden . Here he studied illustration, advertising and photography from 1974 to 1978.

Laurier mainly worked for print media and created artwork on a variety of subjects, favoring oil painting on canvas with realistic subjects. He often combines his love of history with his aviation experience and creates realistic, accurate drawings in this area. The precision of his work and attention to detail are his trademark. In a biography it says about him, among other things: "Every year his paintings are selected for various art exhibitions in museums and art galleries all over the USA. [...] He has won prizes at many of these exhibitions. His aviation paintings are on book covers, on book covers can be found and appeared in all major aviation magazines.
