Jim Pla (born October 6, 1992 in Béziers ) is a French racing driver .

Career

Like most motorsport enthusiasts , Pla began his career in karting , where he was active until 2006. In 2007, the Frenchman made his debut in formula racing in the French Formula Renault Campus at the age of 14 . He won a race and finished the season in sixth place overall. In 2008, Pla was signed by DAMS for the European Formula BMW . With two fourth places as the best results, he finished 18th overall at the end of the season. In 2009 the young racing driver contested his second season in European Formula BMW for DAMS. The Frenchman won four races in a row and finished fifth in the drivers' championship at the end of the season. He also competed in a Pacific Formula BMW race.

In 2010 , Pla was signed by ART Grand Prix for the Formula 3 Euro Series , in which he made his debut at the age of 17. With a win he finished tenth overall at the end of the season. In addition, he started as a guest driver at two race weekends of the British Formula 3 championship and took part in a run of the GP3 series .

Pla is not related to the French racing driver Olivier Pla .
