Zhang Zairong

Zhang Zairong ( Chinese  張 載 榮  /  张 载 荣 , Pinyin Zhāng Zàiróng ; born March 14, 1969 ) is a former Chinese weightlifter .

Career

Zhang Zairong represented China at the World Flyweight Championships in Budapest in 1990 . He managed there in a duel 247.5 kg (117.5-130). With this achievement he won the bronze medal behind Ivan Ivanov from Bulgaria and his compatriot Huang Xiliang . With his performance in the snatch of 117.5 kg, he even became world champion in this individual discipline.

At the 1991 World Cup in Donaueschingen , he achieved exactly the same success. With 255 kg (120-135) in a duel, he was behind Ivan Ivanov, 272.5 kg (117.5-155) and Sewdalin Minchev , Bulgaria, 257.5 kg (116-142.5) third and in the snatch he was again world champion with 120 kg, whereby the re-weighing of the weight showed that the dumbbell weighed 120.5 kg, which was a new world record.

Together with Lin Qisheng , he then represented China at the flyweight Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992 .
