Jim Sampson

Jim Sampson (born September 26, 1948 in Boston , Massachusetts ) is a German - American radio presenter at Bayerischer Rundfunk .

He began his work as a radio presenter in 1966, first in his home country, then in 1972 at AFN Munich . He has been with Bayerischer Rundfunk since 1979 and worked temporarily for Ö3 and Deutsche Welle .

In April 1979 Sampson was on the air for the first time in Bayern 3, representing Thomas Gottschalk in Pop after eight , and produced the Rock 'n Roll Report and the Rock Almanac . In 1986 he hosted the two-hour Saturday show Countdown USA . After working for ORF , Gottschalk brought him back in 1988 to introduce a computer-controlled “Selector” program.

Sampson is considered a music expert, worked for the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation for a long time as a music coordinator and was responsible for concerts there, among other things. Sampson conducted interviews with Alfred Hitchcock , Leonard Bernstein , Michael Jackson and Mick Jagger , among others . Since 2003, Sampson has also occasionally moderated the show Cinema - Kino für dieehren on BR-Klassik . On July 12, 2015, he hosted the show Kultabend for the last time in Bayern 3 , which was discontinued at the end of July 2015. For a very long time he could also be heard on the show Bayern 3-NightLife on Monday evening.
