Jimenez Church of San Juan Bautista
The San Juan Bautista Catholic Parish Church (Spanish: Iglesia Parroquial de San Juan Bautista) was built in the late 19th century. The original church, which was dedicated to the patron saint “Nuestra Señora del Santísimo Rosario”, was built in a settlement of Subanen . The current baroque church was probably started by the Augustinian Father Roque Azcona (1862 to 1863) and was probably completed in the late 1880s. It was built largely from coral limestone and was dedicated to the patron saint "John the Baptist". Attached to the parish is a high school and other social institutions. Designated a National Cultural Monument of the Philippines in 2001, the church is one of the oldest Catholic churches in the Philippines and the oldest in Mindanao .
